Pick of the Week – Bitwarden Password Manager

Password security is one of the most important precautions the must be taken both for personal and business computing. In recent years there has been a steady rise of cyber crime. A weak or compromised password can cost you both privacy and money.

I was a long time user of the password manager built into my iPhone. This meant on my work computer when I logged into websites, I would need to manually take out my phone and enter the password, reading it off my phone. I had tried products like LastPass, but found the integration with the iPhone quite cumbersome.

What got my attention with Bitwarden was the fact that it is Open Source. This means that anyone can view the source code and confirm that they are indeed doing end to end encryption.

Bitwarden features end to end encryption, a password integrity checker, the ability to share passwords with family members or co-workers and much more. There is a free version that is for simple personal use and a $10/yr version that has some more advanced features including file sending.
